Getting Off The Processsed Food Wheel………………………….No Charge

This introductory class is intended to provide the information and the tools that will help people get moving in their journey towards making positive changes in their dietary habits and lifestyles.  In the presentation, Getting off the Processed Food Wheel, we discuss the difference between whole and processed foods, the evolution of processed foods, the consequences of eating processed foods, the benefits of eating whole foods, and how to make changes to incorporate whole food into one’s life.  It will also explain how we, as consumers, have been hoodwinked by the food industry and the government agencies that should be protecting our health. We think you will be as amazed as we are at some of the information that has been unveiled to us. The other InJoy classes are a natural progression from this class.

Seminar: Learning to Bake with the Whole Grains…………..$45.00

This four hour seminar is designed to teach the amazing nutritional value and health benefits of the whole wheat kernel  and why one would want to bake with freshly milled flour.  There will be a discussion on the components of the wheat kernel, creation of white processed flour, and the oxidation, nutrients and fiber.  During the break, there will be an array of baked goods made with freshly milled flour for your sampling.  Each participant will be provided a folder with handouts and information.

  • Demonstration and discussion of the various grain mills
  • Demonstration of making the Basic Bread Dough using the Universal Plus Kitchen Machine

Baking Workshops …………………………………………………………. $25.00

These workshops are designed for those who have attended the Learning to Bake with Whole Grains Seminar.  The workshops are pulled together based on demand.  We offer hands-on baking of any recipes in the Back To Basics cookbook. Each workshop will make two to three items for the participant to take home.  Items will be determined by participant requests.

All workshops are designed to give the  participant the tools and knowledge that they will need to get the highest success rate with the least amount of frustration.  InJoy will provide all necessary ingredients and supplies.  Each participant will leave the class with dough in pans ready to rise and bake.

With all of the baking workshops, each baker will take home a portion of the baked goodies produced in the class.

Individual Baking lessons or special group lessons are available upon request.  Contact us to let us know what your interests are.

Smart Shopper Class…………………………………………………………$25/pp

This class is intended to make the participants aware of the slick marketing gimmicks and deceptive labeling on foods.  Besides food package labeling, and grocery store shopping pitfalls to avoid, genetically modified foods and alternate food sources will be discussed.  Upon completion of this class, the participant will be a savy food shopper equipped with handouts that can be used for making more educated food choices in the future.
